The Ministry of Justice reportedly notified officials at the level of chief prosecutor and above about their impending personnel changes ahead of the first high-level prosecutor appointment under the Lee Jae-myung government on the 23rd.
The personnel changes are said to involve national high prosecutors and regional prosecutors. Among them, many individuals who were promoted during the Yoon Suk-yeol administration are reportedly included.
That day, some senior prosecutors reportedly expressed their intention to resign to the Ministry of Justice. Prosecutor General Song Kyung-ho (29th Judicial Research and Training Institute) and other prosecutors such as Shin Bong-soo from Daegu (29th), Park Ki-dong from Daegu District Prosecutor's Office (30th), and Jeong Yeong-hak from Busan District Prosecutor's Office (29th) are said to have made such declarations.
The Ministry of Justice is expected to hold a personnel committee meeting on the 24th to review promotions and transfers of chief prosecutors. Within the legal community, there are also expectations that the first chief prosecutor appointments could take place as early as this week.
