A man surnamed A, 62, who is accused of killing his son with a homemade firearm in Songdo, Incheon, will not attend the pre-arrest interrogation at the court on the 22nd.
According to the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station, a warrant has been issued for A over charges of ▲murder ▲violation of the law on the safety management of firearms, swords, and explosives ▲intended arson of a residential building. He indicated that he would not attend the interrogation scheduled for that afternoon at the Incheon District Court.
He reportedly expressed that he did not want to attend the interrogation while being detained in a holding cell but did not provide any specific reason for his absence to the police.
The Director General of the Incheon District Court, Yoo Ah-ram, who is in charge of the warrant review, stated that they plan to proceed with the interrogation at 2 p.m. as scheduled, even if A is absent.
A is accused of shooting and killing his son, B, 33, around 9:31 p.m. on the 20th in their apartment on the 33rd floor of a building in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. He allegedly shot B, who had hosted a birthday party for him, in front of his daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and a friend.
A, who fled the scene and was later arrested in Seoul, reportedly stated during questioning that he installed a bomb at his home in Sangmun-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul. Consequently, the police special forces discovered 15 flammable materials, including a bottle containing gasoline, a detergent container, and a milk carton, along with an igniter at A's residence in the early morning of the 21st. The bomb A had made was set to ignite at noon on the 21st but was defused by the police special forces.
A reportedly stated during police interrogation that he learned how to make firearms from YouTube and had purchased ammunition 20 years ago, which he had been storing in a warehouse.
