The Ministry of Education announced on the 21st that it plans to establish measures for the normalization of medical school education this month.
Spokesperson Gu Yeon-hee held a regular briefing at the Government Sejong Convention Center that day and said, "I think we need to finalize (the plan for the normalization of medical school education) by the end of this month."
He added, "There will be a meeting of the medical school deans today," and noted, "Based on this, we will likely discuss with the Ministry of Education and others soon."
However, Spokesperson Gu did not disclose what specific content is being discussed regarding the normalization of medical school education.
Additionally, Spokesperson Gu commented on the criticism that they "broke the principles through academic flexibility," stating, "Last year, we allowed leave of absence, but this year we did not permit collective leave of absence."
He continued, "However, it seems difficult to discuss how we will proceed in the future at this stage."
