Former Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Education Minister candidate Jin-sook Lee remarked on the 21st regarding President Lee Jae-myung's withdrawal of his nomination the previous day, saying, "I humbly accept the opinions of the appointing authority."
Ministry of Education spokesperson Koo Yeon-hee said during a regular briefing held at the Government Sejong Convention Center that "the candidate asked to convey this message."
The former candidate stated, "It has become a great opportunity for reflection, and I will strive even harder," adding, "I wish for the success of the Lee Jae-myung government."
Meanwhile, Woo Sang-ho, senior presidential secretary for civil affairs, noted in a briefing the previous day that "The former candidate's nomination has been withdrawn," adding, "The president has been listening to various opinions while contemplating deeply."
