The doctoral degree obtained by Kim Keon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, from Korea National University in 2008 has been revoked.
Korea National University stated on the 21st that it decided to invalidate the admission and degree conferral of Kim's Graduate School of Techno Design doctoral program.
Earlier, Sookmyung Women's University, which awarded Kim a master's degree from its Graduate School of Education in 1999, revoked the degree on the 24th of last month due to thesis plagiarism.
Korea National University noted regarding this doctoral degree revocation, "This was due to Kim's failure to meet the admission eligibility requirements for the doctoral program because the master's degree submitted at the time of her admission was revoked."
Korea National University formed a committee for the Graduate School of Techno Design to bring the doctoral degree revocation matter to the table. The graduate committee deliberated and resolved to invalidate Kim's doctoral program admission and degree conferral on that day.
