The National Fire Agency reported on the 19th that three fatalities have occurred due to a landslide in Sancheong County, Gyeongsangnam-do.
The National Fire Agency noted, "As of 5 p.m., three people have died, and two have been found in a state of cardiac arrest," and added, "Three others are missing and are presumed to be buried."
A total of 17 people have been rescued so far. The missing individuals are presumed to be buried under debris caused by the landslide.
From the 16th to the present day, a total of 632 mm of heavy rain has fallen across Sancheong County, Gyeongsangnam-do.
The National Fire Agency issued a "national fire mobilization order" at 1 p.m. that day to respond to the landslide. As a result of the mobilization order, a total of 61 personnel and 25 units of equipment have been deployed from the Central 119 Rescue Headquarters as well as the fire departments of North Chungcheong, South Chungcheong, Daegu, and North Gyeongsang.
