Since the 16th, the heavy rainfall that had continued for four consecutive days in the Gyeongsangnam-do area has begun to ease from the afternoon of the 19th.
The Korea Meteorological Administration lifted all rain warnings for the remaining 10 counties, excluding eight counties in western Gyeongnam, including Uiryeong-gun, Jinju-si, Hadong-gun, Sancheong-gun, Hamyang-gun, Geochang-gun, Hapan-gun, and Sacheon-si, effective at 6 p.m. on the 19th.
On that day, levels of intense rainfall led to multiple landslides and river flooding in areas like Sancheong-gun and Hapan-gun in western Gyeongnam, but the rain has started to weaken or stop.
According to Gyeongnam Province, between midnight and 3 p.m. on that day, 283 mm of concentrated rainfall fell in Sancheong-gun alone. The Sancheong-gun area recorded a total of 632 mm of rainfall over four days, with the highest amount falling in Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun, which reached a cumulative total of 759 mm.
Additionally, the Gyeongnam region saw over 266 mm of rain on average over four days in 18 counties, including 559 mm in Ham-an-gun, 508 mm in Hapan-gun, 349 mm in Hadong-gun, and 365 mm in Changnyeong-gun.
