On Saturday, the 19th, a heavy rain warning is in effect for most of the country, with strong winds and thunder and lightning accompanying very heavy rainfall. In the southern regions and Jeju Island, most of the rain will stop at night, but rain will continue in some areas of the metropolitan area, Gangwon Inland, mountainous regions, and northern Chungnam until the morning of the 20th.
As heavy rains continue, caution should be exercised against various safety accidents such as landslides, embankment collapses, and facility flooding. With heavy rain falling in narrow areas, there will be significant differences in precipitation intensity and amount depending on the region, and some places may experience alternating strong and weak rainfall.
The expected precipitation is 30 to 80mm (over 120mm in places) for Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi; 30 to 80mm (over 100mm in places) for Gangwon Inland and mountainous areas; 50 to 100mm (over 150mm in places) for Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk; 50 to 100mm (over 200mm in places) for Gwangju and Jeonnam; 5 to 40mm for the five islands in the Yellow Sea; and 5 to 10mm for the Gangwon East Coast. Jeju Island is expected to receive 10 to 60mm (over 100mm in places in mountainous areas) of rain.
The maximum daytime temperature is forecast to be between 27 and 32 degrees. With high humidity, the maximum perceived temperature will rise to around 33 degrees in most regions of the country, making it feel muggy.
The fine dust concentration is expected to be at 'good' levels across all regions due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and precipitation. Wave heights in the sea are expected to be between 0.5 and 2.0m in the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea coastal waters. The wave heights in the offshore areas (about 200km from the coastline) are predicted to be 0.5 to 2.5m in the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0m in the West Sea.
