It was reported on the 18th that a student was caught trying to steal an exam paper at a high school in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province.
According to a report by Yonhap News, A (18), a third-year student at a high school in Uljin County, was caught by the police for allegedly trespassing (building intrusion) after breaking into the school office around 1 a.m. on April 24 during the midterm exam period. After the incident, A withdrew from school. The police transferred A to the prosecution last month without detention.
On the day of the incident, A was captured on the school's closed-circuit television (CCTV). He ran away as the private security system was triggered. The police identified the man in the video as A three days later and apprehended him. A reportedly confessed during the police investigation that he had entered the school to steal the exam paper but was unable to do so. The school disposed of the exam paper and created a new one for the midterm exam.
Meanwhile, the police plan to transfer a teacher in their 30s to the prosecution in connection with a recent exam paper leak case that occurred in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. In Andong, a stir was caused as a former homeroom teacher, parents, and an administrative head colluded to leak exam papers over the past few years, and they were caught when the private security system was activated.
