On the 17th, a man in his 50s was found in cardiac arrest in a submerged vehicle in Seosan as heavy rain warnings were issued across South Chungcheong Province.
According to the South Chungcheong Province and fire authorities, a report was received around 3:59 a.m. that a vehicle was submerged on a road in Seoknam-dong, Seosan.
Fire authorities who were dispatched after the report rescued three passengers from one submerged vehicle around 5:14 a.m. Later, at 6:15 a.m., they discovered a man in his 50s in cardiac arrest from another submerged vehicle that was parked nearby and urgently transported him to Seosan Medical Center. However, the man ultimately died.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
