Oh Se-hoon, the Mayor of Seoul, said on the 16th, "I will focus on sufficiently supplying dwellings and achieving the goal of market normalization until the end."
On this day, the mayor marked his third anniversary in office at a press conference held at Seoul City Hall, stating, "The housing issue is the most urgent knot that Seoul must untie."
He also noted, "The essence of a house is 'residency', not 'transaction'," adding, "I will supply dwellings sufficiently with more practical and stronger means."
Meanwhile, the mayor announced that he would introduce the 'public housing promotion fund' in Seoul. The public housing promotion fund is a method that allows private investment in a fund created by the public. This policy was first mentioned by the mayor during his recent business trip to Vienna, Austria.
The mayor said, "As a result of the review by the department to introduce the public housing promotion fund, a positive assessment of feasibility has been made," and added, "We will save 200 billion won annually to prepare about 2 trillion won over the next 10 years."
Additionally, the mayor presented 'renaissance of quality of life' as a key issue for the fourth year of his term and the one remaining year in office.
He said, "Seoul has potential that the world is paying attention to in technology, industry, and culture," and added, "The tangible changes in life are the true competitiveness of Seoul, and I would like to call this direction 'renaissance of quality of life.'"
He further remarked, "All the changes, including the wrist doctor 9988 that enhances citizens' quality of life, the fun station created at subway stations, the leisurely Han River three-type festival, the Seoul International Garden Expo, the Seoul outdoor library, and the Han River bus, are all puzzles toward the renaissance of quality of life."
In addition, the mayor said, "This year will be an important year recorded as the starting point of the AI administrative revolution," and noted, "We plan to introduce an AI-exclusive ChatGPT to the Seoul City Hall."
He added, "This is to provide citizens with faster and more dignified administrative services," and stated, "This year, more than 5,000 employees will learn AI and plan to apply it to their work."
