The special investigation team for the insurrection stated on the afternoon of the 14th that the attempt to forcibly summon former President Yoon Suk-yeol had failed. Accordingly, the special investigation team plans to send a directive document to the head of the Seoul Detention Center again, requiring the forcible summons of former President Yoon to the investigation room located at the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office by 2 p.m. on the 15th.
Special prosecutor Park Ji-young noted during a press briefing around 4:30 p.m. that "we received communication from the correctional authorities indicating that it will be virtually impossible to carry out the special investigation team's directive for summoning."
Park noted, "(from the correctional authorities) we received communication that 'former President Yoon did not respond to the summons process and did not leave the detention facility. Given that he is a former president, it would be difficult to mobilize forceful physical measures.'"
In response, the special investigation team announced plans to summon former President Yoon for questioning by 2 p.m. on the 15th. During the briefing that day, the special investigation team indicated that they would send a document directing the forcible summons of former President Yoon to the Seoul Detention Center again.
Previously, around 2 p.m. that day, the special investigation team sent a document to the head of the Seoul Detention Center directing the summons of former President Yoon to the investigation room in the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office by 3:30 p.m. When former President Yoon did not appear for the originally scheduled 2 p.m. questioning, the special investigation team instructed the Seoul Detention Center to carry out a forcible summons.
