It has been revealed that 116 instructors related to the far-right education group "Rebox School" taught classes at 241 elementary schools. Including the previously known 43, the total is 159.
The Ministry of Education announced the results of a comprehensive survey titled "Current Status of Rebox School-related instructors at After School programs" on the 10th. This survey is the second following the first conducted in June.
Previously, the Ministry of Education surveyed whether After School instructors were related to Rebox School across the nation's elementary schools from June 2 to 13 through 17 city and provincial educational offices. At that time, it was found that 43 instructors related to Rebox School conducted After School classes in 57 elementary schools nationwide.
The Ministry of Education, which conducted the first survey, identified five organizations related to Rebox School (Rebox School, Korea After School Education Association, Glory Social Cooperative, Unnam Network, Freedom College Scholarship Fund, Korea Education Consulting Institute). However, during the investigation process, an additional six organizations were confirmed, including the Life Science Education Research Association, Little King Kong, Korea History Guardians, Truth Korea, and Korea Teachers' Union, leading to a second survey conducted from June 27 to July 3.
The second survey confirmed that 116 instructors conducted classes at 241 elementary schools. The Ministry of Education stated that these instructors operated programs related to science and art but did not run any historical programs.
The Ministry of Education plans to conduct on-site inspections of the 241 schools identified in the second survey by August, in cooperation with the education offices. Previously, the Ministry of Education found that there were no violations of educational neutrality in the results of on-site inspections of the 57 schools identified in the first survey.
Meanwhile, the Education Committee of the National Assembly held a hearing related to Rebox School on the same day.
