A tropical night continued for the 11th day in Seoul. The high temperature in Seoul reached up to 36 degrees on the 10th, indicating that the heat will persist even during the day.
The Korea Meteorological Administration noted that the lowest nighttime temperature in Seoul recorded 27.3 degrees from 6 p.m. the previous day to 7 a.m. that day. A nighttime temperature above 25 degrees is recorded as a tropical night. Since June 29, the nighttime temperature in Seoul has exceeded 25 degrees.
Such tropical nights are occurring throughout the country. In Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, the tropical night has persisted for 12 days since June 28, and in Jeju, it has lasted for 10 days since June 30.
In addition, the previous day, the lowest nighttime temperatures in the metropolitan area exceeded 25 degrees, with Incheon at 26.7 degrees and Suwon at 25.7 degrees. Tropical nights also occurred in Gwangju (25.2 degrees), Busan (25.2 degrees), and Miryang, Gyeongnam (25.8 degrees).
The heat is expected to continue even during the daytime. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that the high temperature in Seoul will rise to 37 degrees that afternoon. In Gwangju and Daejeon, it is expected to be 35 degrees.
