Yulchon Law Firm (led by Kang Seok-hoon) announced on the 9th that it has recruited former Vice Administrator of the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office Jo Nam-gwan (24th Judicial Research and Training Institute), former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Moon Seung-wook, former Secretary General of the Board of Audit and Inspection Choi Sung-ho, and Choi Yong-seon, Vice Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Korea.
The newly recruited personnel have held high-ranking positions in the Moon Jae-in administration, which shares similar tendencies with the current government. Yulchon aims to enhance its role as a think tank so that corporations can respond more swiftly to various policies and legislative matters promoted by the current government.
Former Vice Administrator Jo Nam-gwan joined Yulchon's Criminal Litigation Group in June. He served as an administrative officer in the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President during the Roh Moo-hyun administration and held positions as the Director of the Prosecutors' Office and an acting Prosecutor General during the Moon Jae-in administration. He is known as a 'criminal expert' and is expected to contribute to strengthening the expertise of Yulchon's Criminal Litigation Team.
Former Minister Moon Seung-wook, who served as the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy during the Moon Jae-in administration, has been recruited as an advisor for Yulchon's Trade and Industry Special team. Moon has extensive experience in industrial policy, having served as Vice Administrator of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do. Based on this, he plans to actively advise corporations in response to the tariff policies of the U.S. Trump administration.
Former Secretary General Choi Sung-ho joined Yulchon as an advisor in July. He is praised for his excellent leadership during his tenure as Secretary General of the Board of Audit and Inspection during the Moon Jae-in administration.
Choi Yong-seon has been recruited as a senior expert. He has conducted various policy research at the Democratic Party of Korea's think tank, the Democratic Policy Institute, and has accumulated diverse experience, including roles in the Office of National Security and as a senior administrative officer during the Moon Jae-in administration.
A Yulchon representative said, 'This recruitment focuses on the changes of the new government' and added, 'Through this recruitment, we plan to strengthen communication with the new government and respond swiftly to political and economic issues.'
