An email threatening a terrorist attack was received at Sungshin Women's University in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, prompting police and fire authorities to launch an emergency search.
According to fire authorities on the 7th, a joint search with police to check for explosives and other hazardous materials has been underway since 1 p.m. on the Sungshin Women's University campus in Donam-dong, Seongbuk-gu.
Sungshin Women's University informed students and staff of the terrorist threat that afternoon and issued an emergency notice to restrict access and cancel all classes.
Staff members were advised to return home immediately and work from home, while students and outsiders were asked to go home.
The threatening email in question is reported to have arrived at the official email account of Sungshin Women's University at around 11:40 p.m. on the 4th.
The school confirmed the contents indicating that they would carry out a terrorist attack and reportedly filed a 112 report with the police that day.
