The Seoul Police Agency announced on the 3rd that it will launch a concentrated crackdown on 'disorderly operation of two-wheeled vehicles' during July and August.
The Seoul Police Agency noted, "We will improve practices that undermine community trust in basic traffic order to lead to a society where citizens are happy."
To this end, for two months, ▲traffic patrol motorcycle units ▲traffic response teams ▲urban high-speed patrol units ▲covert patrol units will deploy all available manpower and assets to educate on disorderly conduct on the roads. Additionally, campaigns to eradicate disorderly operation of two-wheeled vehicles will be conducted at major intersections such as Gwanghwamun Station and Gangnam Station, and posters against signal violations by two-wheeled vehicles will be installed in 155 locations around the city to encourage reporting.
The Seoul Police Agency will also simultaneously crack down on ▲cutting in line and making U-turns ▲violations of bus-only lanes ▲tailgating ▲merging into traffic ▲non-emergency ambulance uses, known as the 'five major traffic violations.'
The police plan to establish a 'traffic disorder eradication task force' in collaboration with the Seoul City and Korea Road Traffic Authority (KOROAD) to provide administrative and policy support.
