A tropical night occurred for the third consecutive day in Seoul. On the 2nd, heat wave warnings were issued across most parts of the country, with daytime highs reaching up to 36 degrees, continuing the hot weather.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the nighttime low in Seoul recorded about 27 degrees from 6 p.m. the previous day until 9 a.m. that day. Since the 29th of last month, the nighttime low has exceeded 25 degrees for three consecutive days until the 1st of July. If the temperature remains above 25 degrees overnight, it is recorded as a tropical night.
Tropical nights occurred across various regions in the country, including the metropolitan area of Seoul.
In the metropolitan area, the nighttime lows in Incheon, Dongducheon, Suwon, and Paju exceeded 25 degrees. In Gangwon Province, Gangneung surpassed 30 degrees, while Donghae, Sokcho, and Cheorwon also exceeded 25 degrees. In the Chungcheong region, tropical nights were observed in Cheongju and Boryung. Areas experiencing tropical nights in the Jeolla region include Mokpo, Gochang, and Gwangju. In the Gyeongsang region, Pohang, Daegu, Ulsan, and Busan also surpassed 25 degrees.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that the maximum perceived temperature would rise to around 33 degrees due to the influx of humid warm winds from the North Atlantic high pressure system affecting most areas of the country.
The expected morning low is predicted to be between 23 and 28 degrees, while the expected daytime high will range from 27 to 36 degrees.
The expected maximum temperatures by region are as follows: Seoul 32 degrees, Incheon 28 degrees, Chuncheon 31 degrees, Gangneung 35 degrees, Daejeon 33 degrees, Daegu 36 degrees, Jeonju 34 degrees, Gwangju 34 degrees, Busan 31 degrees, and Jeju 31 degrees.
