On the 2nd, BAE, KIM & LEE LLC announced that it has recruited former Vice Minister Jo Kyung-sik, who served as the second vice minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT during the Moon Jae-in administration, as an advisor.
Advisor Jo is regarded as a policy expert in information and communication technology (ICT), having over 30 years of practical experience across various government departments.
Advisor Jo graduated from Korea University with a degree in business administration and holds a master's degree in public policy from the Korea Development Institute (KDI) Graduate School of International Studies, as well as a master's degree in financial management from Michigan State University. In 1990, Advisor Jo passed the 34th national civil service examination and has held positions such as head of the telecommunications competition policy team and head of the telecommunications and broadcasting policy team at the Ministry of Information and Communication, as well as director of frequency planning at the Korea Communications Commission, Planning and Finance Director, and Spokesperson.
Following this, Advisor Jo served as Director General for Policy Planning and Spokesperson at the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, and as Director of Broadcasting Policy Promotion. In 2020, he was appointed as the Digital Innovation Secretary at the Presidential Office, where he worked on data economy, digital government innovation, and digital media policy. He then served as the second vice minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT from 2021 to 2022, overseeing ICT affairs.
Advisor Jo is expected to provide consultation across the fields of ICT, artificial intelligence (AI), and data within the BAE, KIM & LEE LLC TMT (IT technology, broadcasting, and telecommunications) group.
