The special investigation team for insurrection stated on the 2nd that it is investigating former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and Minister Ahn Duk-geun of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The two attended the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office, where the special investigation team for insurrection is located, around 9:52 a.m. that day. The special investigation team is revisiting the process of the Cabinet meeting before and after the declaration of martial law on Dec. 3, as suspicions have arisen that a new martial law declaration document was prepared and then discarded following the declaration by former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Former Prime Minister Han reportedly signed a document drafted by former Presidential Office Chief of Staff Kang Yi-gu after the declaration of martial law, and a few days later requested that they treat it as though it never happened, stating that it could cause controversy if the fact of post-event documentation became known. This document was eventually discarded.
Meanwhile, Minister Ahn did not attend the Cabinet meeting held before the declaration of martial law but is reported to have participated in the Cabinet meeting for the resolution of the martial law repeal.
