Singer-turned-broadcaster Oh Yoon-hye has been sued by former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo for defamation and other charges. After completing the police investigation, she shared her reaction, stating it was "exciting."
On the 30th, the Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned Oh for an investigation regarding the allegations of defamation and the public office election law for disseminating false information. This lawsuit began when Oh made remarks targeting the former prime minister during her appearance on MBC Radio's "Kwon Soon-pyo's News Highkick" last April.
During that broadcast, Oh mentioned, "I heard from an acquaintance that the acting president enjoyed a meal at a certain hotel. The public is struggling with such a national issue."
In response, former Prime Minister Han's side submitted a complaint to the police, claiming that the statement was baseless and tarnished his reputation.
After completing the investigation, Oh posted a photo taken in front of the Korean National Police Agency building on her social media and wrote, "Thanks to my reliable lawyer and the kind investigators, I came out of the investigation well. It was exciting to visit a police station for the first time in my life."
Meanwhile, Oh previously clarified during a broadcast, "While civic groups were filing complaints daily, the public was suffering, but I only reported critically on information I received about high-ranking officials enjoying luxurious meals."
