The police have determined that a man arrested on suspicion of setting fire inside a train on Seoul Subway Line 5 is not a psychopath.
A spokesperson for the Korean National Police Agency said at a regular press briefing on the 23rd, "We conducted a psychopath assessment through interviews with the suspect, but determined that he does not meet the criteria for a psychopath." The spokesperson added, "The assessment results are quantified, but we do not disclose specific figures."
A man surnamed Won, in his 60s, was transferred to custody on the 9th for allegedly spraying flammable liquid and igniting it in a subway train between Yeoinaru Station and Mapo Station on the morning of the 31st of last month. The police noted that Won stated shortly after the crime, "I am dissatisfied with the results of my divorce lawsuit," suggesting a need to analyze his psychological state and thus conducted a thorough assessment, including a psychopath test.
