In Geoje, Gyeongnam, three men in their 20s, including active-duty soldiers, shot BB pellets at dogs in a restaurant yard, resulting in the death of one dog.
According to the Geoje Police Station on the 18th, they fired hundreds of BB pellets at four dogs in the yard of a restaurant in Ilwon-myeon, Geoje City, around 1 a.m. on the 8th. As a result, two dogs sustained serious injuries, and one of them eventually died while being treated.
Two of the perpetrators are active-duty soldiers, and it was confirmed that the crime occurred during their leave, leading to the case being transferred to the military authorities. The remaining person is a civilian, and the police have booked him on charges of violating the Animal Protection Act and trespassing.
The police are investigating the exact motive for the crime and the type of BB gun used.
