Regarding the '12·3 martial law' incident, it has been reported that the special prosecutor investigating former President Yoon Suk-yeol's charges of insurrection will use two floors of the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office, where the Prosecutor's Office's special investigation unit for martial law is located. Six dispatched prosecutors are also set to report for duty.
According to a comprehensive report from ChosunBiz on the 17th, the special prosecutor's office has decided to use the 9th and 12th floors of the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office. The Seoul High Prosecutor's Office is where the Prosecutor's Office's special investigation unit for martial law is located. The special investigation unit previously indicted key individuals in the case, including former President Yoon Suk-yeol. It has been reported that the special prosecutor's office requested an office in the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office to ensure the continuity of the investigation.
It has also been confirmed that six dispatched prosecutors have been finalized. They are Director General Park Ji-hoon (37th class) of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 5, Director General Choi Soon-ho (35th class) of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 3, Director General Kim Jeong-guk (35th class) of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 4, Director General Guk Won (36th class) of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office's Anti-Corruption Investigation Division, Director General Jo Jae-cheol (36th class) of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 5, Director General Park Hyang-cheol (36th class) of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office's Food and Drug Investigation Division, and Vice Minister Choi Jae-soon (37th class) of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Information Division 2. It has been reported that four prosecutors will be dispatched under each Director General.
Currently, all the prosecutors in the special investigation unit will move to the special prosecutor's office. Vice Administrator Kim Jong-woo (33rd class), as well as Director Generals Choi Soon-ho and Choi Jae-soon, are examples of this transition. Director General Lee Chan-kyu (34th class), who is handling the trials, along with 14 prosecutors under his supervision, will also join the special prosecutor's office.
