According to Mrs. Kim's attorney, she has been hospitalized at Asan Medical Center in Seoul due to the worsening of a preexisting illness. It has not been disclosed what specific condition she is hospitalized for.
Mrs. Kim is currently under investigation by the prosecution for alleged involvement in nomination issues related to Myung Tae-kyun, allegations of bribery through Geonjin Beopsal, and allegations of stock manipulation involving Deutsch Motors. Additionally, a special prosecutor dedicated to investigating allegations related to Mrs. Kim is set to officially launch soon.
Mrs. Kim has not yet responded to the prosecution's summons notice. The Central District Prosecutors' Office's team dedicated to investigating the Myung Tae-kyun allegations (led by Vice Administrator Lee Ji-hyung) issued a summons notice to Mrs. Kim's side before the June 3rd presidential election regarding the nomination issue. However, it has been reported that Mrs. Kim's side conveyed their intention not to attend, stating that it could influence the presidential election. After the election, Mrs. Kim's side submitted an opinion letter to the prosecution stating that 'the charges against Mrs. Kim are merely inconsistent and baseless allegations.'
