Jeju Island announced on the 10th that it will completely overhaul the existing incentive policy to attract group tourism, significantly expanding the support targets and changing the method of support to pay the local currency 'Tamnanajeon' on-site.
First, the support targets have been expanded to include existing general groups (travel agency bookings), school trips, ferry groups, agreement and sisterhood organizations, alumni associations, as well as clubs, sports groups, and other organizations. However, participants in national events held in Jeju receiving subsidies or multiple supports for the same event are excluded from the targets.
The support method has also changed from the previous lump-sum post-settlement method to immediately providing 30,000 won in Tamnanajeon per person on-site after confirming flight tickets at the tourist information center upon arrival at Jeju Airport. Group tourists must apply in advance to the Jeju Tourism Association.
Interest in the group tourism incentives implemented since March has been increasing. As of the 5th, the status of applications for group incentive support shows a total of 509 applications from 30,067 people.
