On the 4th, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Jae-myung delivered the collective resignation letters of the Cabinet members to President Lee Jae-myung.
On that day, the Ministry of Education announced through a notice to the press corps that "all Cabinet members submitted their resignation letters on June 2nd," adding that "Acting Prime Minister Lee Jae-myung expressed the resignation of all Cabinet members, including himself, to President Lee Jae-myung today."
There are projections that President Lee Jae-myung is likely not to accept the simultaneous resignations of all Cabinet members. To appoint new Cabinet members, the Prime Minister must make a nomination proposal. Additionally, there must be 11 Cabinet members present to hold a Cabinet meeting.
Previously, two days before the 19th presidential election held due to the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye, the Prime Minister and 16 Ministers submitted their resignations. After that, former President Moon Jae-in only accepted the resignation of then-Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn the day after his inauguration and did not accept the resignations of the other Ministers.
