Lee & Ko (led by attorney Kim Sang-gon) announced on the 2nd that it has officially launched a 'one-stop team' to resolve the legal difficulties of urban redevelopment projects and support the swift and transparent progression of these projects.
Redevelopment projects are areas with many legal disputes, and many developers are reportedly experiencing project delays and economic losses. In response, Lee & Ko explained that it has assembled a team to enhance speed and efficiency in various aspects, such as permitting procedures, relationships with stakeholders, and communication with local authorities.
Lee & Ko's construction real estate group is staffed with specialized attorneys in redevelopment projects, including attorney Jang Chan-ik, Yoo Dong-kyu, Jung Chae-hyang, Chu Kang-cheol, and Na San-ha. They possess various success stories, including ▲comprehensive legal consulting for changes in management plans to resolve retail disputes in the reconstruction of the Gaepojugong Complex 4, ▲support for negotiations regarding construction cost disputes in the reconstruction of the Dunchonjugong Complex, and ▲compliance support for contractor selection in the Hannam 3 redevelopment promotion zone.
Additionally, they have also recruited top experts from various fields, including Park Seon-ho, a former first deputy minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and attorney Kang Dong-hyuk (Seoul Administrative Court's dedicated division for urban redevelopment).
A representative from Lee & Ko stated that the 'one-stop team for redevelopment projects' is the largest specialized compliance support team in the country that can integratively manage and respond to various legal issues that may arise throughout the entire process, from the initial stage of establishing redevelopment plans and forming initiative committees to the dissolution and liquidation of associations.
