The police revealed on the 26th that they are conducting summons investigations of former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, former Minister Lee Sang-min, and former Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok regarding the martial law incident.
The police special investigation team reported that they summoned former Deputy Prime Minister Choi for questioning starting at noon that day. Earlier, they also summoned former Prime Minister Han and former Minister Lee for questioning beginning at 10 a.m.
All three individuals attended a Cabinet meeting held before the declaration of martial law on Dec. 3 as suspects in the case of rebellion.
The police confirmed discrepancies between the statements of these individuals and the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the inside of the Cabinet meeting room (the reception room) and the hallway of the presidential office, which they obtained recently from the Presidential Security Service.
A police official explained that this is a procedure for verifying the differences when comparing the statements made by these three Cabinet members to investigative agencies or the National Assembly with the CCTV footage.
