Kumho Tire's Gwangju plant has begun compensation for residents affected by a large fire.
According to Kumho Tire's Gwangju plant on the 22nd, the company has submitted 2,713 health-related damage claims to the insurance company from over 4,000 claims received from residents between the 19th and 21st. These residents complained of headaches, dizziness, and sore throats due to smoke and dust from the fire that lasted for three days.
Kumho Tire plans to sequentially submit claims for property damage, such as vehicle dust and business compensation, to the insurance company. The damage status reception center is set up at the Songjeong Health Center within Gwangju Gwangsan District Office and will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the 28th.
A representative of Kumho Tire's Gwangju plant said they would strive to expedite the compensation process, considering the residents' damage.
