The beloved actor Park Eun-soo (78), known for the role of Il-yong in the national drama "Jeonwon Ilgi," has landed in legal trouble. This time, he was sued for fraud after borrowing several tens of millions of won and not repaying the loan.
According to the Hwaseong Western Police Station on the 15th, recently, a representative of an entertainment agency, identified as A, filed a complaint against Park Eun-soo for fraud. The complaint reportedly claims that Park borrowed several tens of millions of won from A and has not repaid it. The police plan to summon both the complainant A and Park Eun-soo soon to investigate the circumstances of the case.
In response, Park Eun-soo rebutted, saying, "It's an absurd story." He further stated his intention to file a countersuit against A for false accusations.
Park Eun-soo's side stated, "A is a friend of a friend. I wanted to treat him a few times and went to meet him after he sent me transportation costs, and I did perform at his request. However, while I was given the grants for the performance, I incurred a deficit from it, and now I am being asked to reimburse the entire amount, but I haven't even been paid all of the grants."
This is not Park Eun-soo's first legal trouble. In 2010, he was sentenced to eight months in prison for failing to pay for interior construction but was later sentenced to a fine.
In 2021, he appeared on MBN's "Exclusive World" to disclose that he had become a basic livelihood recipient. Last month, Park Eun-soo stated on his YouTube channel, "I was defrauded of about 8 billion won, and I lost my house, too," adding that he worked as a day laborer on a friend's pig farm. He continued, "However, rumors arose that I was the one committing fraud, and I wondered if it would help to say that I'm not. In the meantime, I received a call from 'Exclusive World,' and while shooting that, I was able to cover it. I feel sorry for my family."
