Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Ju-ho attended the opening ceremony of the '7th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Education Ministers' Meeting' held at the Jeju International Convention Center on the 14th.
During his opening remarks, the deputy prime minister noted, "The Republic of Korea is a country that achieved economic growth and social development through the power of education," adding, "The advancement of digital technology and the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) represent a civilizational change, and as always, we will prepare for the future based on trust and cooperation while creating a new vision."
This APEC Education Ministers' Meeting will be held from May 13 to 15 under the theme 'Addressing educational disparities and promoting sustainable growth in the era of digital transformation: Innovation, consolidation, prosperity.'
The meeting will be attended by Eduarso Perdosa, APEC Secretary-General, and over 200 delegates from 20 member economies. They will discuss the direction of future educational innovations and ways to enhance global educational cooperation for shared prosperity in the region during the meeting.
