Police applied for an arrest warrant for Huh Kyung-yung, the honorary representative of the National Revolution Party, on charges of quasi-forcible molestation and fraud.
The Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency stated on the 12th that they applied for an arrest warrant for Representative Huh on charges of quasi-forcible molestation, fraud, and violation of the Political Funds Act.
Previously, in February of last year, Representative Huh was sued by female members of the Hanulgung for alleged molestation in a crowded place. The claim is that Representative Huh touched the bodies of the female members under the pretext of counseling.
In this regard, police changed the charges from molestation in a crowded place to quasi-forcible molestation, believing that Representative Huh had molested the members who were under his psychological control.
Representative Huh is also facing charges of fraud for selling spiritual products to the members at prices exorbitantly higher than their costs. Police have summoned Representative Huh more than 10 times and searched the religious facility he operates, Hanulgung. Representative Huh denies all charges, claiming that the complainants (members) filed the complaint to extort money.
The prosecution is reportedly reviewing whether to file for an arrest warrant.
