Lee Ju-ho, acting president and Minister of Education, said on the 2nd, "The government will finalize the disaster recovery plan for the wildfire damage that occurred in the Gyeongbuk and Ulsan regions, and will concentrate all efforts to ensure the prompt recovery of victims' daily lives."
The acting minister made this statement during a visit to the Disaster Safety Management Situation Room at the Government Seoul Complex that afternoon.
He noted, "Protecting the precious lives and properties of the people is the most important duty of the state," and added, "We will prepare thoroughly for the imminent natural disasters and heat waves."
He also stated, "During the holiday period, ensure that there is no negligence in public safety by checking the emergency contact system and doing your best for real-time situation reporting."
