The weekly average price of gasoline and diesel at domestic gas stations has fallen for 11 consecutive weeks.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) price information system Opinet on the 26th, the average selling price of gasoline at nationwide gas stations in the fourth week of April (20th-24th) recorded 1,635.6 won per liter (L), down 9.2 won from the previous week.
Regionally, the price in Seoul, where the cost is highest, recorded 1,703.0 won, down 4.9 won from the previous week. The lowest price was found in Daegu, where it fell 8.6 won to 1,592.8 won. This is the first time since the second week of November last year (1,598.7 won) that the price in Daegu has dropped below 1,600 won.
By brand, SK Energy gas stations had the highest average price at 1,645.3 won per liter (L). The lowest was found at discount stations at 1,608.7 won.
This week, the average selling price of diesel was recorded at 1,502.2 won, down 9.0 won from the previous week.
Meanwhile, the reference price for imported crude oil, Dubai oil, has been recorded at $68.5, up 1.6 won. International gasoline prices rose $2.6 to $76.3, while international diesel for automobiles increased by $1.4 to $82.3. International oil prices are typically reflected in domestic gas station prices with a lag of about 2 to 3 weeks.
