A man in his 30s was arrested by the police while attacking with a weapon in the hallway of an apartment after killing his parents in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.
The Iksan Police Station stated on the 26th that they arrested Mr. A on charges of parental homicide and special injury.
Mr. A allegedly stabbed his parents multiple times with a weapon around 12:51 p.m. that day. He is also accused of attacking a passerby with the weapon after coming out into the apartment hallway. The passerby suffered a wrist injury and is receiving treatment at the hospital.
The police, responding to a report that 'it seems the younger sibling killed the parents,' dispatched to the scene and urgently arrested Mr. A inside the apartment.
Mr. A stated, 'My parents were trying to kill me, which is why I did it.' However, the police are judging that the credibility of his testimony is low.
A police official noted, 'It appears that the crime was committed while he was in a psychologically unstable state,' and explained that they are currently figuring out the exact circumstances of the incident.
