The joint response team formed by Changwon City, Changwon Facilities Corporation, and NC Dinos to handle the accident involving the collapse of an exterior structure at Changwon NC Park is deliberating whether to demolish all of the exterior structures within NC Park.
According to Changwon City and others on the 24th, an accident occurred at Changwon NC Park when one 'louvre,' an exterior structure, fell, injuring three baseball fans. One victim died while undergoing treatment. The louvre is an aluminum structure measuring 2.6 meters in length, 40 centimeters in width, and weighing approximately 60 kilograms.
The NC Dinos removed three louvres that were deemed highly dangerous after the accident. However, there are still about 230 louvres installed at Changwon NC Park. The louvres have been in place since the park's completion in 2019 and are known to have sun-blocking functions.
The joint response team plans to decide whether to demolish all louvres based on the results of a recent emergency safety inspection. The reopening date of Changwon NC Park is expected to be confirmed after safety measures concerning the facilities, including the removal of the louvres, are established.
