The prosecution summoned Oh Se-hoon, the senior civil society secretary at the presidential office, over allegations concerning Nam Tae-kyun's intervention in nominations.
According to the legal community on the 22nd, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office's special investigation team for the Nam Tae-kyun allegations, led by Head of Team Lee Ji-hyung, is investigating the former secretary as a witness today.
The former secretary, a former journalist, worked in the communications office of the presidential office during the Park Geun-hye administration. He was later appointed as the senior civil communication secretary at the presidential office under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration. The former secretary retired to run in the April 10, 2024, general election but did not receive a nomination. He then returned to his position as the senior civil society secretary at the presidential office.
The prosecution is investigating whether Nam Tae-kyun's polling company, Future Korea Research Institute, which he effectively operated, conducted 13 undisclosed polls related to Mayor Oh Se-hoon ahead of the April 7, 2021, Seoul mayoral by-election, and whether businessman Kim Han-jeong, known as a long-time supporter of Mayor Oh, covered the expense of 33 million won.
Since these allegations surfaced last year through media reports, it is reported that the prosecution has secured evidence suggesting that the former secretary was in contact with individuals associated with Mayor Oh.
