On the 15th, Dongjak District announced that it will push for the attraction of a large-scale complex retail center operated by Emart.

On the 14th, Dongjak District signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the 'Dongjak District Compact City Development' with District Head Park Il-ha and Wi Soo-yeon, head of Emart's Development Innovation Headquarters, among others.

According to the agreement, Emart will seek to find ways to open stores such as a large-scale complex retail center in connection with development projects ongoing throughout Dongjak District. Dongjak District plans to provide administrative support, such as permits, once the store openings become tangible.

Dongjak District signed this agreement, stating that residents are experiencing inconvenience due to a lack of large supermarkets. There are no Emart stores in Dongjak District, and residents must use Emart locations in neighboring municipalities such as Yeongdeungpo, Yeouido, and Yeoksam.

District Head Park Il-ha said, 'We will create an environment where residents can solve their residential, commercial, shopping, and cultural needs within Dongjak District without having to travel far.' He noted, 'We will do our best for the convenience of residents and sustainable urban development in the future.'
