Kim Shin-jo, a pastor who infiltrated our country as a North Korean infiltrator and later became a pastor, passed away on the 9th. He was 83 years old.

According to the Seoul Seongrak Church, Pastor Kim was reported to have passed away early that morning.

The funeral hall is expected to be set up at the Kyowon Yeoum South Seoul Funeral Hall in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.

Pastor Kim infiltrated across the ceasefire line on the night of January 21, 1968, around 10 p.m., as one of 31 armed infiltrators from the North Korean Army's Unit 124 to attack the Blue House.

After a joint operation by the military and police to pursue and eliminate the infiltrators, 28 out of the 31 infiltrators were killed by February 3 of the same year, excluding 1 who was captured alive and 2 who escaped. Pastor Kim was among the survivors captured at the time.

He was ordained as a pastor in 1996 and served at the Seoul Seongrak Church before retiring.
