Minister Kim Moon-soo of the Ministry of Employment and Labor said on the 7th regarding his presidential candidacy, "I have not made any decisions," adding that he is "deep in thought on various matters."
On that day, Minister Kim met with reporters at the Kia Osan Education Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. When asked about his presidential candidacy, he made the remarks. He is currently leading the conservative candidates in various opinion polls ahead of the early presidential election triggered by the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
On that day, Minister Kim visited the Kia Education Center to sign a business agreement aimed at training maintenance personnel for electric vehicles. This marks his first official schedule since the impeachment of former President Yoon on the 4th.
When asked how he feels about voices urging him to run for president, Minister Kim responded, "It seems they are saying that because they are thirsty."
There are claims that Minister Kim will resign from his position after the Cabinet meeting on the 8th. In relation to this, Minister Kim noted, "I have not made any decisions yet," and added, "I will assess the situation before making a judgment."
He also stated, "I am not preparing to run like other candidates. My popularity has increased as I went through last year's emergency rule and impeachment phase. I am still not well-prepared and am in deep thought on various matters."
Meanwhile, Minister Kim commented on the decision regarding the impeachment of former President Yoon, saying, "The law made the decision, so I accept it." Previously, he had referred to the decision to impeach former President Park Geun-hye as "a wrong decision."
