President Yoon Suk-yeol has decided not to attend the Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling date at 11 a.m. on the 4th.

On the 3rd, Yoon's attorney, Yoon Gap-geun, noted, "Considering the situation where congestion is expected, we comprehensively took into account the need for order and presidential security issues."

The Constitutional Court announced on the 1st that the ruling date for President Yoon's impeachment would be held at 11 a.m. on the 4th. Previously, former Presidents Roh Moo-hyun in 2004 and Park Geun-hye in 2017 did not attend their respective impeachment ruling dates. Neither of them attended a single hearing at the Constitutional Court.

In contrast, President Yoon attended 8 out of 11 hearings held at the Constitutional Court. He directly conducted witness examinations and presented final arguments. Thus, there was significant interest in whether President Yoon would attend the ruling date.
