The Seoul Tourism Foundation announced on the 31st that it has appointed Hong Jae-sun as the head of the Planning and Management Headquarters and Won Jong as the head of the International Tourism and MICE Headquarters, a position open to external applicants, who previously served as an executive at NCR Korea.
Hong Jae-sun, the new head of the Planning and Management Headquarters, has worked for 16 years since the establishment of the Seoul Tourism Marketing Company, a predecessor of the Seoul Tourism Foundation, where he has led operational management and strategic planning. He has grown alongside the organization since its early days, becoming the first Deputy Minister to develop his capabilities internally since the foundation's establishment.
Won Jong, the new Deputy Minister, is a global business expert who has accumulated approximately 25 years of extensive experience in renowned corporations both domestically and internationally. He has held an executive position at DHL Supply Chain Korea and IBM Korea, and has gained practical experience in the tourism and leisure industry at Jeju Shinhwa World.
The Seoul Tourism Foundation plans to enhance organizational stability and global competitiveness through this appointment and accelerate efforts to elevate Seoul as a world-class tourist city.
Gil Ki-yeon, representative of the Seoul Tourism Foundation, noted, "The internal promotion of Hong Jae-sun as head will serve as an important turning point in strengthening the operational stability and sustainability of the foundation," and added, "With Won Jong's global experience, I expect that he will lead the advancement of the Seoul tourism industry."
