One person who was severely injured in a wildfire in the Gyeongbuk region died on the 29th. Consequently, the total number of deaths from this wildfire has risen to 30.
According to the Central Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, one person who had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Andong, Gyeongbuk, died this morning. Including the deceased, the total number of casualties from the wildfire incident has reached 70 as of this morning.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will provide an additional 230 million won in disaster relief funding to support the operation of temporary housing facilities and relief activities for evacuated residents. By region, the amounts are 60 million won for Cheongsong in Gyeongbuk, 40 million won for Yeongyang, 70 million won for Yeongdeok, 20 million won for Sancheong in Gyeongnam, and 40 million won for Hadong.
As of now, approximately 55.4 billion won has been raised through donations to relief organizations. The funds will be used to support the livelihoods of disaster victims, including the purchase of food.
