The Ministry of Education announced on the 28th that a total of 175 educational (childcare) facilities have suspended operations and adjusted school hours due to wildfires.

According to the Ministry of Education, as of 10 a.m. on this day, 174 facilities in North Gyeongsang Province and 1 in North Jeolla Province were recorded as adjusting their academic schedules, totaling 175.

In North Gyeongsang Province, 162 facilities have suspended operations, 11 are conducting remote classes, and 1 has adjusted its school hours. In North Jeolla Province, 1 facility has suspended operations.

The number of schools adjusting their academic schedules due to the wildfires increased by 22 from the day before. Previously, the Ministry of Education stated that 153 facilities had adjusted their schedules as of 9 a.m. on the 27th. This counts the status of educational facilities including kindergartens, elementary, middle, high schools, and universities, excluding daycare centers.

The Ministry of Education plans to support attendance management for affected students through a government-wide central joint support center established in North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang provinces starting this day.
