The presidents of 40 universities with medical schools said, "We reaffirm that if (medical school) students return and conduct normal classes, we will adjust the admission quota for the 2026 academic year to 3,058 students."
The Council of Presidents for Medical School Advancement (Sunjin) held a video meeting this morning and announced a statement of agreement on this matter.
Earlier, the government accepted the opinions of the presidents of national medical universities and deans on the 7th, noting, "We will return next year's medical school admission quota to 3,058 prior to the increase on the premise that students return by March."
Sunjin also stated, "We agreed to closely cooperate with medical schools to ensure normal education can take place at each university after March," adding, "The Korean Medical Association is urged to send a strong message for students to return to school."
