A wildfire of unknown origin occurred on Mount Hambak in Daegu.

According to forest authorities on the 27th, the fire broke out near the summit of Mount Hambak, close to Songhae Park in Okpo-eup, Dalseong-gun, around 7:29 p.m. the previous day.

In response, forest authorities issued the first phase of wildfire response at 8:32 p.m. and deployed approximately 110 firefighters along with 35 firefighting vehicles.

The fire is situated near the 8th ridge of Mount Hambak, which stands at a height of 430 meters. Winds of 1 to 3 meters per second are making it difficult to extinguish the fire.

Dalseong-gun has sent text messages advising nearby residents and hikers to evacuate to safe locations. So far, the fire has not spread significantly to surrounding areas, but the Daegu Fire Headquarters plans to deploy a helicopter as soon as daylight arrives.
