Wildfires in the Yeongnam region have continued for five days since the 21st, resulting in a total of 18 fatalities. The fire in Uiseong has spread to nearby areas, leading to 14 deaths in Gyeongbuk and 4 in Gyeongnam.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters noted on the 26th that there have been a total of 37 casualties due to the wildfires, with 18 dead, 6 seriously injured, and 13 with minor injuries. The serious injuries include 1 person from Gyeongbuk and 5 from Gyeongnam, while the minor injuries consist of 6 from Gyeongbuk, 5 from Gyeongnam, and 2 from Ulsan.

A total of 209 structures have been damaged, including 64 in Sancheong, Gyeongnam, and 145 in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk. The situation in Ulsan Ulju's Onyang and Unyang is currently under investigation. The burned structures include dwellings, factories, warehouses, temples, vehicles, and cultural properties.

A total of 27,079 people have been evacuated due to the wildfires. While 1,073 have returned home, 26,006 remain sheltered in gyms and other locations. The number of residents from Uiseong and Andong who have not returned home is 19,287. In Ulsan Ulju's Unyang, 4,628 individuals have not yet returned, and 365 in Onyang are also still away from home, while 1,726 from Sancheong and Hadong are in evacuation. Additionally, 35 people from Jeonbuk's Gochang and Jeongeup have evacuated.

Since the 21st, wildfires have occurred in six locations. Among these, the fires in Okcheon, Chungbuk, and Gimhae, Gyeongnam have been completely extinguished. Fires in Sancheong and Hadong, Gyeongnam, Uiseong and Ulsan Ulju Onyang, and Ulsan Ulju Unyang are still being contained. The affected area of the six wildfires is 17,534 hectares.

The containment rates are 98% for the Ulsan Ulju Unyang fire and 92% for the Onyang fire, while the fires in Sancheong and Hadong, Gyeongnam stand at 80%. The containment rate for the Uiseong fire, which rapidly spread to Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok the previous afternoon, is 68%.
