On the 26th, Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, arrived at the Seoul High Court around 1:50 p.m. to receive the ruling on the appeal in the election law violation case.
When reporters asked him, "What is your position on the ruling being announced before the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol?" Lee simply replied, "Let’s discuss that afterward" before entering the court. He briefly shook hands with Democratic Party lawmakers who had been waiting in front of the court.
The ruling on the appeal in Lee's election law violation case will take place at 2 p.m. that day. Previously, in the first trial, Lee was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
