The death toll from the wildfire that started in Uiseong, North Gyeongsang Province, on the 22nd and spread to northern North Gyeongsang Province has increased to 2.

According to forest authorities on the 25th, a family discovered A, a woman in her 70s, at a dwelling in the yard of a house in Sindeok-ri, Imhae-myeon, Andong City, around 6:54 p.m.

The family, living in the same village, went to check on A to evacuate her and found her collapsed in the yard. A police official noted, "It is presumed to be a death by asphyxiation due to inhalation of wildfire smoke."

Earlier, around 7 p.m. that day, B (65) was found dead from burns by a passerby on the outskirts of a road in Cheongsong-eup, Cheongsong County. Authorities confirmed through the family that B was trying to evacuate using a personal vehicle in accordance with the wildfire evacuation order.
